On November 7, 1919 A. Mitchell Palmer ordered a series of raids on offices of the union of russian workers in 12 different cities, The raids targeted those who were born out of The United States. in 1920 Palmer ordered another serios of raids, but this time it was on the headquarteres of various radical organizations. Nearly 6,000 people were arrested during the raids. The raids continued until the sprin gof 1920. thousands of of suspects were detained but only aroud 600 were deported.
Some of the people couldnt even go to court to fight the deportation, many were not even able to speak to their attorneys.
